Lodhi Gardens, Delhi

The Delhi Sultanate is a collective term for five dynasties of Delhi that ruled between the 13th and 16th centuries - the Mamluk, Khalji, Tughlaq, Sayyid and Lodhi dynasties. The last Lodhi  sultan, Ibrahim Lodhi, was defeated in the battle of Panipat by Babur, marking the beginning of the Mughal rule in India. The sprawling Lodhi Gardens of Delhi are home to many monuments dating back to the last two, the Sayyid and Lodhi dynasties. We paid the gardens a quick visit the last time we were in Delhi - we didn't have enough time to see the whole park because we had a train to catch.
